β’ Reentry Assistance β Post-incarceration services provide vital support for individuals transitioning back into the community, offering resources for housing, employment, and personal growth to help build a stable and successful future.
Anti-Recidivism Coalition β The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) empowers formerly and currently incarcerated people to thrive by providing a support network, comprehensive reentry services, and opportunities to advocate for policy change. Dedicated to transforming the criminal justice system so that it is more just and equitable for all people, ARC provides guidance through In-reach Programs, Support Groups, Housing Assistance, and robust high-quality Job and Educational opportunities.
With local Ventura and Camarillo offices, founder Scott Budnick and the stellar ARC team were heavily involved with the recent LA fires as well β in fact, their Ventura Training Center offers a Firefighter Training and Reentry Program specifically for these skills and abilities!

CalAIM in Focus: Reentry β Seeking to help people returning to their communities from jail or prison, CalAIMβs Justice-Involved Initiative is designed to better meet the health needs of people leaving incarceration. Services include enrolling eligible people in Medi-Cal before their release from prison, jail, or youth correctional facilities, ensuring connection to both physical and behavioral health services, and housing transition navigation.

Fresh Start Program β This program offered by the Ventura County Public Defenderβs Office focuses on helping individuals clear their criminal records to improve their chances for employment, housing, and other opportunities. The program assists eligible clients with processes such as expungements, record sealing, and early probation termination. By removing or minimizing the impact of past convictions, the Fresh Start program offers individuals a second chance to reintegrate into society without the burden of a criminal record holding them back.
