Mental Health

• Crisis & Warm Lines + Chat Options → Available 24/7, 100% free of charge. Confidential and judgment free.

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline → If you or a friend are experiencing thoughts of suicide, 988 can support you in your immediate crisis, and connect you with follow-up resources.

  • California Peer-Run Warm Line → This peer-led line provides stigma-reducing support that addresses a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use.

  • Ventura County Behavioral Health Access/Crisis Line → This local line provides support for individuals and families in crisis, including people considering suicide. It is the entry point to all VCBH services, with a focus on mental illness, substance use, or both.

    • Note: This includes their mobile crisis response team. Should you or a friend need immediate, local next steps, these will be provided along the way by trained MH professionals.

• Therapy Options → Low to no-cost therapy services and programs, varying by age and current challenges.

  • CalHOPE → A fantastic new program providing MH support for youth and their families, via two free apps:

    • BrightLife Kids – MH coaching and resources for parents and youth, ages 0-12

    • Soluna – The same for teens and young adults, ages 13-25

  • 211 Ventura County → Access tons of local resources here, including counseling and support groups for mental health and substance use disorders.

  • NAMI Ventura County → The National Alliance on Mental Illness’ local office provides support and referrals to services, including counseling, crisis support, and further psychiatric care.
